[AWS] 실습6일차 - AWS 예산 관리 Billing and Cost Managetment (setting Budget)

 

1.  AWS Billing and Cost Management (setting Budget)

Is a service that provides tools for managing and controlling your AWS spending. Within this service, the Budgets tab allows you to set custom cost, usage, and reservation budgets. You can track your AWS usage and costs against these budgets and receive alerts when you approach or exceed your specified thresholds.

This tab is useful for ensuring that your AWS expenditures stay within the expected limits, helping you to manage and optimize costs.

 A lot of access denied, Becasue you log in as IAM user

 

Even though your IAM account have administration access, you're not allow to access to your Billing data.

To activate AWS Billing and Cost Management, log in with the root account.

 

1. How to Activate Billing and Cost Management with IAM user

Login with root account  > Account > (Scroll down) > IAM user and role access to Billing information > Edit > check on Activate IAM Access > Update

 

이렇게 하면 관리자 권한을 가진 IAM 계정도 Billing Data에 접근가능하다.

 

Back to my IAM account, It takes some time for AWS to show Billing data.

But its' going to be shown in 24 hours.

so I guess I 'll have to check tomorrow again.

2. Cost Summary

In the Cost Summary, you can check the following information
- The current month's costs up to now
- The total forecasted costs for the current month
- The costs for the same period last month
- The total costs from last month

3. Charges by Service 

특정 기간 동안 비용 청구서 확인하기

나는 아직 결제 내역이 없어서 데이터가 안 뜸

 

Billing and Cost Management > (Side Menu) Billing and Payment >  Billing > choose Billing Period(Year - Month) > (Scroll down) Charges by Service >

4. Free Tier

Billing and Cost Management > (Side Menu) Cost and Usage Analysis > Free Tier

 

무료로 이용가능한 양, 현재 사용한 양, 예상 사용가능량 등 확인 가능

 

MTD forecated usage %

When you exceed the AWS Free Tier, the red graph represents the actual costs incurred.

This graph visually shows the costs that occurred beyond the free tier limits.
the blue graph represents the estimated costs, based on the predicted costs for the current month.

-> Make sure you turn off anything that is turned on and potentially cost you money

 

5. Setup Budget

Billing and Cost Management > (Side Menu) Budgets and Planning > Budgets

 

 

5-1. Create Zero spend budget

Use a template (simplified)
Templates - New: Zero spend budget
Budget Name: My Zero-Spend Budget
Input Email

whenever you spend 0.01 dollar you will get alert.

 

5-2. Create Monthly cost budget

ex) My Monthly Cost Budget ($10)
매월 10달러 이상 지출하지 않기

지출의 85%가 넘어가면 메일 한 번을 받게 되고, 100%가 넘어가면 다시 메일을 받게 됨.
